Sustainable Jersey representatives announced recently that Princeton was one of three municipalities in New Jersey to receive a Sustainable Jersey Small Grant for $35,000.
“Princeton is thrilled to receive this grant to help fund the EnergySmart Buildings campaign, which will be carried out by Sustainable Princeton on behalf of the Municipality. It follows Sustainable Princeton’s successful EnergySmart Homes campaign which helped Princeton homeowners become more energy efficienct,” said Princeton’s Mayor, Liz Lempert.
The Energy Smart Buildings campaign will focus on commercial properties, which account for 26% of energy consumption in New Jersey, according to the Energy Information Association (EIA). It will allow Sustainable Princeton to identify opportunities and assist building owners and tenants with choosing, implementing and measuring energy efficiency improvements.
