Robbinsville Extended Day, a department of the Robbinsville Public Schools, has finalized details for this year’s “Discover” summer programs.

Discover programs are offered at the preschool and kindergarten levels. They are divided into six week-long sessions, each with a unique theme. The program focused on academic enrichment, a difference from traditional recreational summer camps.

The Discover programs are open to students both in the Robbinsville Public Schools district as well as students from the surrounding areas, including all of Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth and Burlington Counties.

Both Discover Preschool and Discover Kindergarten will be hosted in the fully air conditioned Pond Road Middle School. Sessions begin the week of June 30 and run through the week of Aug. 4. This year’s themes are Beach, Dinosaurs, Weather/Seasons, Colors, Insects and Galaxy.

“Students will have the opportunity to engage in enriching activities such as doing crafts, playing games and reading books about each theme,” said Pamela Elmi, RED Founder & Director.

“Our Discover programs are much more than a daycare; they provide valuable learning experiences and prepare students for the next steps on their educational journey,” she said.

Discover Preschool offers half day sessions from 9 a.m. to noon. Each session is run by experienced early-childhood providers.

Discover Kindergarten, entering its 15th summer, also offers half day sessions, as well as full day sessions which run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It features instruction from certified district faculty.

The Discover programs are open to students both in the Robbinsville Public Schools district as well as students from the surrounding areas, including all of Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth and Burlington Counties.

In addition to its Discover programs, RED is partnering with the Robbinsville Township Recreation Department to offer pre-and-post care for Robbinsville’s recreation and sports camp.

Breakfast and quiet activity will be provided from 7-9 a.m. and a nutritious afternoon snack and structured activity will be offered from 4-6 p.m.

“Learning in Robbinsville doesn’t just happen during the traditional school year,” said Robbinsville Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Patrick Pizzo.

“It is a year-round pursuit. Thank you to Pamela Elmi and her team for all the wonderful work in developing our RED summer programs,” Pizzo said. “I encourage parents to consider enrolling their kids for this excellent learning experience.”

Registration opens April 11. Parents can learn more about RED here or contact Elmi at 609-632-0910 ext. 2215 for more information.
