Dear Allentown, Upper Freehold and Millstone residents and business owners,
I am pleased to share an exciting new chapter for our local media landscape and our community.
For more than 20 years, I have dedicated my life to serving our local communities—connecting residents with one another and helping local businesses share their products and services with neighbors and visitors alike.
Following the acquisition of Community News Service LLC by LTD Media, and suggesting that we bring back the Messenger-Press, we have been presented with an incredible opportunity. I have officially relocated our staff to our new office at 24 South Main Street, situated above Perennial Homes in the former home of The Messenger-Press.
With this move, I am thrilled to announce the relaunch of The Messenger-Press. We will direct mail within a few days before or after the 1st of each month to every residential home in Allentown, Upper Freehold, Cream Ridge and a large portion of Millstone.
We will also bulk distribute to our local businesses for visitors to pick up while shopping. We have reimagined the format to be more affordable for local businesses while focusing our delivery specifically on the Upper Freehold Regional School District service area.
There is a palpable sense of excitement among residents and business owners, as this publication provides a dedicated space to share information directly from our school districts, highlight our vibrant business community, and feature stories about the people who make our towns special.
Serving as both the Associate Publisher of Community News Service and the Mayor of Allentown Borough, I recognize my unique position. My primary goal for all our publications is to maintain a neutral, balanced, and equal platform for local news. We are committed to eliminating political slant and creating a level playing field for all voices.
In this spirit, I look forward to providing a monthly mayoral column and will be extending this same invitation to the leadership of Upper Freehold and Millstone. As we grow beyond our inaugural issue, we will refine a format that offers fair and rotating coverage for all participating communities.
At its heart, Community News Service focuses on “good news” and hyper-local content. We aim to provide a refreshing reprieve from the negative headlines often found elsewhere by celebrating the successes and connections within our own backyard.
My door is always open, and I am in the office every day. I encourage you to reach out and share your ideas, press releases, and stories with our Editor, Bill Sanservino.
If you represent a small business or local organization, please let us know who you are and what you are passionate about.
I want to personally thank every resident and business owner who has been so incredibly supportive during this launch. I look forward to continuing our work together to strengthen our community.
