The African-American Parent Support Group membership has elected a new leadership team for the term of 2011 to 2013, commencing at the end of this school year through June of 2013.
The new team is a group of dynamic, committed, and passionate leaders who will continue the African-American Parent Support Group’s 25-year legacy of advocating vigorously and effectively for quality public education and access to programs and initiatives that ensure the success of all African-American children in the WW-P district.
I am proud to announce the following new officers: Karen Delk, president; Dr. Jennifer Howard, vice president for membership and outreach; Gina George-Greer, co-vice president for programs and initiatives; Nanette Mathis-Bridgett, co-vice president for programs and initiatives; Joy Bailey, secretary; and Kevin Carter, treasurer.
The African-American Parent Support Group will continue to work aggressively and strategically with the school district, the school board, and other key stakeholders to make sure that addressing the achievement gap is the number one priority in the coming school year.
In these challenging fiscal times it is critical that the achievement gap and access to a quality education continue to be a top priority for all stakeholders in the WW-P school district.
