Executive Women of New Jersey will honor Nelida Valentin of the Princeton Area Community Foundation alongside other distinguished women in leadership at its 2024 Salute to the Policy Makers gala.
The biennial event, which celebrates the achievements of women across business, government and academia, will take place on Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. at The Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains.
Valentin, a resident of Trenton, if the vice president of Grants & Programs for the PACF. is being recognized for her professional accomplishments and her commitment to increasing women’s representation in leadership roles.
“The Executive Women of N.J. amplifies and lifts up the power of women’s contributions and service,” Valentin said. “I’m proud to serve the community through our philanthropy at the Princeton Area Community Foundation.”
M. Courtney McCormick, president of EWNJ and senior vice president of audit, enterprise risk and compliance at PSEG, lauded this year’s honorees, including Valentin, for their groundbreaking contributions.
“The extraordinary contributions of these trailblazers represent the power and potential of women’s leadership across sectors and underscore the critical need to address the ongoing challenges in achieving gender and racial equity in the workplace,” McCormick said.
Susan K. Dromsky-Reed, president-elect of EWNJ and chair of Salute 2024, emphasized the significance of empowering women in leadership.
“This year’s Salute to the Policy Makers honors both the extraordinary accomplishments of our honorees, as well as the collective progress we can achieve when women are empowered and supported in their leadership journeys,” she said.
EWNJ also recognized Prudential Financial as the Salute Corporate Champion for the company’s efforts in supporting gender equity in leadership.
Funds raised through the Salute to the Policy Makers gala support EWNJ’s various initiatives, including its networking programs, advocacy efforts, and the Graduate Merit Award Program.
This program, the largest of its kind in New Jersey, has provided over $1.4 million in tuition assistance to non-traditional female graduate students.
