Princeton Photography Club is set to present Purposeful Imagery: Case Study of Advanced Student’s Work 8 p.m. Jan. 9.
Ricardo Barros is a professional photographer whose works is on display at The Smithsonian Museum of American Art and the Museum of Art in Sao Paulo. He his the author of “Facing Sculpture: A Portfolio of Portraits, Sculpture and Related Ideas.”
Ricardo Barros plans to moderate a slide-talk of several students’ portfolios. The cub said portfolio subjects range from an exploration of ice crystals, to contemporary looks at the Medusa myth, to reflections of personal legacy and family history.
The club said Barros’ likes to engage his students and “elevate the discourse” at his workshops.
“My dream is to walk into a room full of photographers and have everyone of them engaged in a meaningful conversation about why they made their pictures, not how,” Barros said.
The presentation set for Jan 9. at D&R Greenway’s Johnson Education Center, 1 Preservation Place, Princeton.
