Trenton Half Marathon to support United Way

United Way of Greater Mercer County partnered with the Trenton Half Marathon and 10K as a major charity partner for 2013 event.

Now in its second year, the race is scheduled for Nov. 9. It is set to bring runners along Route 29, across the Trenton Makes World Takes bridge and finish at home plate in Arm & Hammer park.

In 2012 the Trenton Half Marathon partnered with local charities to help raise more than $47,500 for their causes.

United Way joins other new charities on the race’s roster.

“United Way of Greater Mercer County is excited to be the major charity partner of the Trenton Half Marathon. It gives us the opportunity to engage our supporters in a healthy endurance activity that everyone can enjoy,” president and CEO of United Way of Greater Mercer County Herb Klein III said in a statement.

The organization aims to improve the financial stability, self-sufficiency, and health of Mercer County residents.
