TCA students win first at Scholastic Olympics

TCA students display their second place team plaque and individual medals. Winners were Lorena Abad (Trenton), Katrina Rivera (Trenton), Christopher Rouze (Trenton), Andrew Abraham (Hamilton) and Michael Hustado (Trenton).

Trenton Catholic Academy took second place at the 32nd annual Scholastic Olympics.

The team also won four individual medals, including two first place winners.

A total of 105 students representing seven parochial and one public school from the Mercer County area took part in the competition. The categories were art, English, history, math, religion, science and spelling.

Michael Hustado won first place in history, Katrina Rivera won first in spelling, Andrew Abraham won second in religion, Christopher Rouze second in science and Lorena Abad won third in art.

The McCorristin Chapter of the National Honor Society at Trenton Catholic Academy plans and conducts the event every year.
