The West Windsor Branch of the Mercer County Library is now accepting entries for its annual Amateur Photo Contest.
The theme for this year’s contest is Colors and Moods, and the deadline for submissions is September 10. Photos must be submitted in person at the West Windsor Branch Library in a 5×7 print format.
The Photo Contest was first introduced in 2009 by the library as a program that would encourage creativity and the arts while providing a platform for the community to come together. Each year the contest has been centered on a different theme. The event has consistently received an enthusiastic response from the community with entries coming in from all age groups.
The photos are judged by a panel that includes members from the West Windsor Arts Council. Prizes include gift cards from Barnes and Noble and photo frames. The contest will culminate in a photo exhibition arranged in the main lobby of the West Windsor Library displaying select entries submitted by contestants. Each year, the exhibition stays on display for a month.
