TEDI is a National Dance Institute curriculum founded by Jacques d’Amboise, a former principal dancer with the NYC Ballet. “
More than 200 students from two Trenton public elementary schools — Mott School and Robeson School — participate in weekly TEDI classes. Beyond practicing dance moves and routines, TEDI teaches children a dance vocabulary, performance skills, cooperation skills, as well as developing students’ concentration and memory abilities, patience and tolerance.
Following the conclusion of a 30 week course of study, students are given the opportunity to show off what they’ve learned at a number of performances for their schools and a special public performance for the community. This year’s course will culminate with TEDI’s Event of the Year performances scheduled for May 21 and 22.
