The St. Francis Medical Center board of trustees and CHE Trinity Health named Christy Stephenson interim president and chief executive officer effective Sept. 13.
Stephenson succeeds Jerry Jablonowski who, after 10 years of service as president and CEO, announced his resignation in August.
Since 2010, Stephenson has served as St. Francis’s executive vice president, strategic and clinical transformation.
“In his 10 years as president and CEO of St. Francis Medical Center, Jerry has transformed our ministry, improving the quality of care and service to the Trenton community with compassion and a special commitment to the underserved. ”
David L. Knowlton, chairman of the St. Francis board of trustees, said in statement.
Before joining St. Francis, Stephenson served as president and CEO of Robert Wood Johnson Healthcare Corporation at Hamilton for nearly a decade. Under her leadership, RWJ-Hamilton became the first New Jersey hospital — and only the fourth in the nation — to receive the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Stephenson received a Bachelor of Science from Rider University and a Master of Business Administration from Temple University Fox School of Business.
She is currently a member of the board of directors of the Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness.
