Boys’ Track
South: Kevin Foy finished second in the 1,”600 in the boys’ open division at the Wrobo Relays on April 4, with a time of 4:38.74. In the boys’ sophomore division, South’s distance medley placed second with a time of 11:58.23. In the boys’ freshman division, Washington placed first in the 110 hurdles with a time of 20.3.
Girls’ Track
South: Sherell Lowe placed first in the discus in the girls’ freshman and sophomore division at the Worbo Relays on April 4, with an 80-7. Lowe and Fadiga placed first in the shot put relay, with a 58-1. South placed third, with a time of 14:15.17 in the distance medley. In the javelin relay, South placed second with a time of 1:24.9. In the girls’ open division, Bradcock placed fifth in the 800, with a time of 2:43.00, and Mauro finished fourth in the long jump with a 14-1.

Sports Briefs
Brian Honore, a former High School South and Hamilton Aquatics Club swimmer, is now swimming for the University of Maryland. Brian had a personal best for the 500-yard freestyle, with a time of 4:23:27, earning a NCAA `B’ cut. Honore broke the 1,”650-free record by over six seconds, with a time of 15:22.92. He will compete this summer at the World Championship Trials in Indianapolis, IN. Brian is completing his junior year majoring in Resource Economics.
High School South basketball star Austin Witter, a senior, has signed a letter of intent to play at North Carolina A&T University. The 6-foot-8 forward/center averaged 14.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 6.6 blocks for the team.
