Cross Country

Caroline Kellner finished 36th, with a time of 18:33, at the Foot Locker National Cross Country Meet run at Balboa Park in San Diego on December 10.

Peddie Swimming

Peddie Aquatics’ swimmers finished in the top three in 18 events at the Caitlin Lehmann Memorial Meet on December 3 at St. Peter’s College in Jersey City. The team swam to a total of 90 final eight finishes in the one-day short-course silver/bronze/mini meet.

Swimming in the 5/6 year old division, Larry Xue (West Windsor) finished second in the 25 back (29.86) and Katie Kudela (Plainsboro) finished third in the 25 free (24.63) and fourth in the 25 back. Emma Mudgett (West Windsor) finished seventh in the 25 free (28.01) and the 25 back (35.13). Tomaz Chevres (West Windsor) finished sixth in the 25 free (29.47).

Jimmy Zhen (West Windsor) placed fourth in the 50 back (48.22) and sixth in the 50 free (41.01). Scott Nahoum (West Windsor) placed sixth in the 50 back (49.29) and sixth in the 25 breast (25.40). Caroline Kudela (Plainsboro) placed seventh in the 25 breast (25.09). Madison Wiston (West Windsor) placed eighth in the 50 free (39.61).

In the 9/10 year old age group, Katherine Xiong (West Windsor) finished fourth in the 50 free (31.74), sixth in the 50 back (39.16), and eighth in the 50 fly (38.37). David Nicholson (East Windsor) finished fourth in the 50 fly (38.81) and fourth in the 100 IM (1:24.06). Rory Xu (West Windsor) finished fourth in the 50 free (32.08) and fifth in the 50 back (41.72). Ethan Yuen (West Windsor) finished seventh in the 50 breast (47.90).

Aquatics Association hosted the Thanksgiving Classic, a USA Swimming meet, on November 19-20 at the Peddie Aquatics Center in Hightstown, New Jersey. More than 1100 swimmers from 16 teams competed in the two day event. Peddie swimmers won 64 events and medaled in 180 at the meet. This weekend also saw two team records tumble.

Swimming in the 6 & Under events, Larry Xue (West Windsor) won the 25 breast (50.46).

In 7 year old events, Scott Nahoum (West Windsor) won the 25 breast (26.79), 25 back (26.79), and the 25 free (18.45). Caroline Kudela (Plainsboro) won the 25 breast (25.87).

The Peddie girls’ and boys’ teams won the 7 & Under 100 free relay. The girls’ team, which included Michelle Li and Sara Atilgan (West Windsor) swam the relay in 1:25.16; the boys’ team, which included Larry Xue (West Windsor) won with a time of 1:46.04.

In the 8 & Under 100 free relay, the boys’ team, which included Scott Nahoum (West Windsor) won (1:33.03).

In 9/10 year old events, Katherine Xiong (West Windsor) won the 50 free (32.44) and the 100 free (1:14.14).

In 13/14 year old events, Emily Schroeder (West Windsor) won the 100 breast (1:14.60), the 100 fly (2:42.53), and the 200 back (2:16.46). Rabia Syed (West Windsor) won the 200 IM (2:19.51). Roman Horoszewski (West Windsor) won the 200 IM (2:10.83) and 200 free (1:53.28).

Swimming in Open Events, Patrick Park (West Windsor) won the 100 back (53.81), 50 free (21.94), 200 breast (2:08.47), and 500 free (4:44.23). Rabia Syed (West Windsor) won the 500 free (5:18.34) and the 400 IM (4:51.33).

Peddie Aquatics is a year-round senior and age-group level swim program which holds membership with USA Swimming. The team consists of approximately 200 athletes ranging in age from 5 years old to seniors in high school.
