The Species on the Edge exhibit will showcase winning artwork by fifth-graders including “Vesper Sparrow” by Jai’Anise Molder of Mercer County’s Monument Elementary School.
D&R Greenway Land Trust’s Olivia Rainbow Gallery is set to present Species on the Edge showcasing winning art by New Jersey fifth graders through the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey. The exhibit will be available from August 3 through September 4, 2015 during business hours of business days. D&R Greenway is located at One Preservation Place in Princeton
The exhibit is made up of compelling nature images and essays on the state’s threatened and endangered wildlife.
Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey’s annual exhibition is the result of a statewide contest. Art submissions are juried by artists and the essays are juried by scientists. Winners must excel in each aspect. The exhibit showcases unique fifth-grade perspectives on imperiled creatures from the Atlantic green turtle to the black-crowned night heron and Pine Barrens tree frog.
Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey recognized this year’s winners with an awards ceremony held on June 2, 2015 in Trenton and hosted by the New Jersey Education Association. Species on the Edge is sponsored by Atlantic City Electric, Church & Dwight, GAF, PSEG, NJEA, ShopRite and Six Flags Great Adventure.
