Plainsboro Republican Marjorie Doyle Lyons, a Sayre Drive resident seeking to become the only woman and the only Republican on the Plainsboro Township Committee, received 191 votes (33.16 percent) in the primary election on Tuesday, June 5. She will challenge incumbents Narun Nabi and Deputy Mayor Neil Lewis for one of their seats on the Township Committee this fall (The News, April 13).
On the Democratic side Lewis received 331 votes, or 57.5 percent, while Nabi got 306 votes, 53 percent.
Doyle Lyons’ highest vote totals were 51 votes from district 7 and 28 votes from district 1. She is also in the running for a seat on the Middlesex County Republican Committee after receiving 49 votes from district 7. Write-in candidates receiving votes for county committee included Lori Magill-Cook, William P. Boyle, John C. Britton, Patricia Luther, and David Douglas Brown.
Doyle Lyons, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Business, where she received B.B.A. and M.S. degrees in finance, works remotely as the treasurer of a start-up company, Healingscenes, which was started by her sister, a San Francisco resident.
