The Plainsboro Township Committee will meet Wednesday, June 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the municipal complex. On the agenda is the introduction of a 2012 bond ordinance and several resolutions to renew ABC licenses for bars or restaurants in the township, including Tre Piani, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Salt Creek Grille, Ruby Tuesday, the Wine Valley, the Westin, and the Wyndham Hotel and Conference Center.
Also on June 13 a public hearing will be held on prohibiting a left turn at the intersection of Schalks Crossing Road and the Industrial Research Laboratory (IRL) Road. “Heading toward Plainsboro Village on Schalks Crossing Road, immediately at the bottom of the bridge there is a road on the left heading back to the laboratories,” said Les Varga, Plainsboro’s director of planning and zoning.
Varga says that cars turning left to access parking at the IRL facility were hidden by the Schalks Crossing Road bridge, causing a traffic hazard as cars going in the other direction cannot see over the bridge’s apex.
“I’ve been stuck in my car many times, especially in the mornings, when there was an accident that happened at that spot,” Varga said.
Other items on the June 13 meeting agenda include performance guarantees and inspection fees for five proposed projects in the township. One performance bond will be collected from the trustees of Princeton University as plans for a storm water retention basin, to be built in conjunction with a proposed 40,000-square foot medical office building in the Forrestal Campus, near the location of the Research Collections & Preservation Consortium (ReCAP) at 400 Forrestal Road.
