Three new coaches are set to lead Trenton Catholic Academy’s soccer teams this year.
Athletic director Fred Falchi announced that Patrick Julu, Blamo Kwein and Felix Martay will fill the vacancies on the boys and girls soccer teams.
Julu is set to be head coach of the boys squad. He has a coached teams in the U.S. and Liberia, where he was involved with the national team.
His assistant, Blamo Kwein, is a member of the Mercer County Community College Soccer Hall of Fame. He scored the winning goal in the 1991 championship, and is still the second leading scorer in the school’s history. He has served as a long-time coach with the Glenn Myernich Soccer Foundation, which brings soccer opportunities to inner city youth.
Felix Martay is set to take over the girls’ soccer team from Bob Stevens, who resigned because of a heavy work schedule. Martay is a former professional player in the Peruvian First Division league, as well as a defenseman on the MCCC team that finished third in the nation in 2005. Recently, he has been involved with the Hamilton West High School soccer program.
