West Windsor Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh has officially registered as a member of the Democratic party, switching from his former status as an independent.##M:[more]##
Hsueh says that he was not active in any party-related functions when he first got into local politics, and that he remained an independent. However, Hsueh said, he has been following politics on the national level and decided to declare himself a Democrat.
“I pay a lot of attention to national politics, and I wasn’t happy with what happened under the George W. Bush administration for eight years, and I just feel I’m more sympathetic with the Democratic position,” the mayor said.
Hsueh insists that his new party affiliation will not have an impact on how he handles township business. “When you try to fix a pothole, there is no Democratic way or Republican way of doing it; there is only one way — you just get the job done.”
