In honor of Princeton Adult School’s 75th anniversary, Charlie Gibson is set to lead a conversation with former two Princeton University presidents.
The event is part of the school’s Anniversary Celebration Conversations, which features three conversations throughout the year.
The school’s goal is that each conversation will be an informal exchange among recognized leaders, led by an informed moderator, sharing their thoughts and experiences about the challenges and opportunities that have occurred during the last seven decades while looking ahead to the next several decades.
The first conversations, titled Higher Education: Past, Present, Future, is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the Friend Center on Olden and Williams streets on Princeton University’s campus. A reception will follow.
In this inaugural conversation, Charles Gibson, television news leader and university trustee, will guide the discussion with former Princeton University presidents, Shirley Tilghman and Harold Shapiro. Additionally, president of Cedar Crest College, Carmen Twillie Ambar, and president of Swarthmore College, Rebecca Chopp, are set to be on the panel.
The second conversation on international affairs features Washington Post Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Barton Gellman as moderator. It is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Dec. 8 at the Friends Center.
The school plans to host the third conversation in early 2014; this talk will be about the arts.
Tickets for all three conversations is $100. Single conversations are $25.
Proceeds are set to benefit the Princeton Adult School 75th Anniversary Fund.
