Pennington artist, Jameson Moore, is set to display his works at PEAC Health & Fitness in October.
Moore’s art includes printmaking and wood engraving. His display at PEAC is set to feature a new collection of linoleum cuts that focus on simplifying an object’s shape, detail and color.
To make linoleum cuts, a printmaker cuts a design into linoleum, applies ink the surface, then puts the linoleum through a press to print the image on paper.
As a historian by profession, Moore studies and interprets the techniques of past engravers and printmakers to hone his skills. He finds inspiration in what he sees while traveling around the United States and the world.
Moore’s artwork has been displayed at the Trenton City Museum and the Silva Gallery of Art, and is currently displayed at Twine, in Hopewell. His piece entitled Perugia has been displayed at the first Wood Engravers Network show in Asheville, N.C. for the past year.
Moore is a middle school social studies teacher at The Pennington School and resides in Pennington, NJ.
