The University Medical Center at Princeton has announced that a daughter was born to Plainsboro residents Jayshree Chaudhari and Ameya Paranjape, January 5.

Deaths

Joseph K. J. Wright Jr., 72, of Kissimee, Florida, died December 29, at Florida Hospital Celebration. Born in West Windsor, he was a longtime resident. A Navy veteran, he was a builder at Morris Maple & Son in Princeton. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Rice Wright; sons Matthew of Winter Park, Florida, Robert and Garrett of Flemington; a daughter of Bradenton, Florida; sister Vivian MacPherson of Wilmington, North Carolina; brother David O. Wright of Rio Grande; and two grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Andrea Crossin, 63, of Rockaway Township, died January 3 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Survivors include a son, Daniel, of Plainsboro. Donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to the Chabad Center of Northwest New Jersey.

Joseph F. Trani, 85, of Flagtown died on January 4. Born in Ischia, Italy, he was a World War II Navy veteran, and one of the first to arrive at Normandy. A master mason, he practiced his craft at the Doris Duke estate, Princeton University, Institute for Advanced Study, Jasna Polana, Princeton Forrestal Campus, and Drumthwacket. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Doris H. Allshouse Trani; sons Joseph F. Trani, Bryce J. Trani, Glenn J. Trani, and Springfield Trani; a daughter, Lisa Rose Mojka; brothers, Ralph Trani, Frank Mazzella, and S. Richard Mazzella; sisters Agnes Gillman, Carmella McAllister and Mary Meyer; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Burial was in Penns Neck Cemetery.

Harvey Edward Norfleet, 93, of Suffolk, Virginia, died January 6. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Emily and Mike Kendzierski of Plainsboro. Donations may be made to Holland Christian Church, 6733 South Quay Road, Suffolk, VA 23437.

Steven Reilly, 49, of West Windsor, died January 7. Born in Washington, he moved from New York to New Jersey in 1993. He was a sales executive in the financial industry.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Reilly; his children, Jenna, Lindsay, and Marc; his parents, George and Irene Reilly; and his brother and sister-in-law, David and Julie Reilly. Harry Pullen, 84, of Kernersville, North Carolina, died January 8. Survivors include a grandson, Chase Pullen of Plainsboro. William P. Beck, 90, of West Windsor died January 9 in Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he moved to West Windsor six years ago. An Army World War II veteran, he received his bachelor’s degree from New York University. He was an accountant for AirCo and the BOC Group, retiring in 1981. Survivors include his daughter, Barbara A. Peterson; his granddaughter, Cara A. Peterson; and his sister-in-law, Jean Beck. Marjorie Combs Winsor, 91, of West Windsor, died January 10 at Bear Creek Assisted Living. Born in Lawrenceville, she was a lifelong area resident, and a retired clerical worker with American Cyanamid in West Windsor. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living member of the Slackwood Presbyterian Church.

Betty Hunter, 84, of West Windsor died January 11. Born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she moved to West Windsor eight years ago. Survivors include her children, Denise Stelmak of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Keith and his wife Maryann Hunter of Rocky Hill, and Sheila Hunter of West Windsor; her grandchildren, Scott and his wife Maureen Stelmak, and Todd Hunter; and her great-grandchild, Wyatt Stelmak. Terry E. Higham, 46, of Bordentown, died January 13 in the Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton. Born in Zanesville, Ohio, she was a postmaster in Plainsboro for more than 20 years.

Survivors include her husband, Justus C. Higham III of Bordentown; daughter Jessica Higham, and son Joseph Higham, both at home; her parents, Gerald and Anne Panulla of Levittown, Pennsylvania; her father-in-law, Justus C. “Nick” Higham Jr. and wife Marie of Manchester; her mother-in-law, Mary Grosso and husband Frank of Trenton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Debbie Panulla of State College, Pennsylvania, and Brian and Michelle Panulla of Portland, Oregon; sisters and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Michael Martlock of Maryland, Diane Miller of Pennsylvania, and Karen Nelson of Penndel, PA.

Thelma Schulman Goldfin-ger, 79, of West Windsor died January 14. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Dick Goldfinger; three sons; seven grandchildren; and her sisters, Beatrice Blau and Gertrude Brenner. A lifelong New Jersey resident, she was a nurse, and a founder of Congregation B’nai Israel of Basking Ridge. Donations may be sent to Beth El Synagogue, 50 Maple Stream Road, East Windsor 08520.

William Edward Hourihan, 43, of Hamilton died January 14 at Capital Health System at Fuld. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy H. and Steven J. Gartenberg of West Windsor. Shirley Doris Holman, 76, of Mansfield died January 14. Born in Cranbury she lived in Dutch Neck before moving to Mansfield in 2006. A graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1951, she attended NJ College (now Douglass College, Rutgers University) and Columbia University-Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. A registered nurse, she worked at Princeton Hospital, with Visiting Nurse Association, and West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, and was the director of nurses at several adult communities.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck for more than 60 years, she was a member of the “Corner Brighteners,” a compassionate service group of the church. Survivors include her husband, Wesley; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Norman Crochetiere; daughter, Joy Holman and Bob Barber; son, Guy Holman; grandchildren, Norman and Kerri Crochetiere, Brian Taylor, and Wesley, Joy, and Alexandra Holman.

Mildred V. Perrine, 79, of Hightstown, died January 15 at RWJ University Hospital in Hamilton. A lifelong Hightstown resident, she moved to West Windsor in 2005. She retired in 1993 after more than 29 years as a purchasing clerk for McGraw Hill.

Survivors include cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, at 3 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown. Interment will take place in Brainerd Cemetery on Thursday, January 28, at 2 p.m. Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian of Hightstown, 320 North Main Street, Hightstown 08520.

James J. Desmond, 71, of Old Bridge died January 17 at home. Survivors include a daughter, Kelley Desmond of Plainsboro.

Mildred Lundy Tipton, 96, of Bear Brook Assisted Living in West Windsor died January 17 at Arcadia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hamilton Square. Survivors include her brother, Dale Lundy of Williamsport, Pennsylvania; two daughters and sons-in-law, Caryl Tipton and Robert Joe Lee of Hamilton Square, and Jody and Stanley Lipson of Westfield; sons and daughter-in-law, Alan Tipton of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Todd and Connie Tipton of Edmond, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Sara Ellen Padden, 70, of Hackettson died January 18. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kate and Kevin Silvester of Plainsboro; and grandchildren, Riley and Olivia Silvester. Donations may be sent to Gethsemane Nursery School, 409 East Baldwin Street, Hackettstown 07840.
