Just as residents were getting back to normal, another storm arrived, this one the nor’easter that some labeled with the name of Athena. She mostly offered the region a cold shoulder and an icy glare — in the form of an early snow storm and more wind to add insult to injury.
In Plainsboro police and commuters had to deal with another road closing — Dey Road — due to icing and a downed tree.
Mayor Hsueh sent the following advisory to West Windsor residents:
“The emergency needs of the community are winding down. Because there is little use of the Senior Center after hours, we are going back to normal hours beginning Friday. The Center will stay open tonight until 9:00 PM. PSE&G continues to work to restore power to the remaining residents that are out.
“We did suffer more damage with the nor-easter Athena. The additional trees down and new outages will be addressed with the others. As with any new outage, please call your power provider and make sure that they are aware of the new problem. Our Public Works Department dealt with the snow that fell last night and will resume with trees and brush.”
