The WW-P African-American Parent Support Group has a new logo and an exciting year planned for the 2010-2011 school year in the WW-P School District. The AAPSG continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary with events and activities for families and children of all ages.
“The AAPSG held a strategic planning session in July of this year with school district administrators and board members, AAPSG steering committee members, advisory committee members, and township elected officials to brainstorm our strategic priorities and plans for the next school year and beyond,” says Barbara Edmonds, president of the organization.
Some of the programs planned for the coming school year include hosting a technology night with the WW-P School District for parents on how to navigate Infinite Campus and new technology this fall, planning district-wide international day events that celebrate the rich diversity in the district, hosting a career night showcasing parents, sponsoring an event on how to access and navigate the many athletic programs in the school district and township, partnering with community-based organizations such as the West Windsor Arts Council, township libraries, and community and recreation programs in West Windsor and Plainsboro.
Scheduled events for the fall include the following a membership meeting on Thursday, September 16; Back to School Night informational tables at all WW-P schools; college fairs, a conference, and a new program for elementary school children.
