Three Pennington churches recently launched their first Interfaith Missions project by delivering more than 130 boxes of breakfast cereal to the food pantry at Trenton Rescue Mission.
The three churches are First Baptist Church of Pennington, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, and Pennington United Methodist Church.
Trenton’s Rescue Mission has long been a refuge for the city’s struggling people. The food pantry, an integral part of Rescue Mission Trenton, feeds more than 70 families a week, all at no-cost to patrons. During the coldest nights of this winter, the mission has housed more than 300 persons in its shelter and comfort center. The mission provides many other services, including mental health/addiction counseling, clothing, health assistance and housing.
Together the Pennington churches will continue to stock the food pantry shelves.
