The 38th Annual Watershed FEST, which supports the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed’s efforts to protect clear water and the environment in central New Jersey, is set for Oct. 5.
The fundraising event, called Rockin’ In Our Wellies, celebrates the music of the ’60s and early ’70s and the beginning of modern environmentalism.
FEST will commence with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres during which Watershed guests can bid on silent auction items. The event continues with sit-down dinner and an live auction, offering a variety of items and experiences, including a five-night stay at an Irish castle, a four-night stay at a ranch house in Montana with unlimited golf, and a vintage wine package.
The evening will conclude with dancing to music from the ’60s and ’70s.
For the first time ever, the silent auction component of FEST will be opened up to the public through online bidding. Members of the community and FEST guests can place early bids on items such as rock and roll memorabilia, jewelry, restaurant packages and wine tastings. Raffle tickets will also be available online to win an all-inclusive trip for two to St. Lucia. Online bidding is open at bidpal.net/watershed.
The Watershed Association plans to break ground on an innovative new LEED Platinum environmental center on the reserve that will strengthen science and education programs, create new classrooms, laboratories, and interactive exhibits to show visitors how to reduce their energy and water use.
FEST is scheduled to begin 6:30 p.m. at the Watershed Reserve in Hopewell Township.
