Hamilton Township Board of Education is saying goodbye to paper agendas.
The board is set to use BoardDocs, a paperless meeting resource that hosts the agenda and other documents on the internet, as part of its eGovernance initiative.
The board said in a statement the use of BoardDocs will save time, taxpayer dollars and the environments.
BoardDocs will replace the process of compiling, printing, binding and distributing paper agenda packets by hand, which left members with little time to read it before the meeting. The online system allows documents to be shared without waiting for the rest of documents to be submitted.
Board members will have access to other school boards that use eGovernance. Members can search a database of documents to research initiatives other boards have considered and implemented.
In addition to using fewer resources, documents uploaded online will be available to the public. Individuals will be able to review the agenda before the meeting and see how the board responded to it after it concludes.
