Ewing Township will host a free rabies vaccination clinic this weekend to help pet owners keep their dogs and cats protected and compliant with New Jersey law.
The clinic will be held Saturday, June 21, from 9 to 11 a.m., in the lower-level parking lot of the Ewing Municipal Building at 2 Jake Garzio Drive.
Pet owners should enter from Graphics Drive by Riverhorse Brewing and follow signs and directions from police, staff and volunteers.
The clinics are open to all residents and their pets, but specific guidelines must be followed.
“All people and pets must stay in their cars until they receive directions from staff or volunteers,” organizers said.
All dogs must be on a secure, non-retractable leash no longer than 6 feet. Cats must be in individual carriers. Every animal must be accompanied by an adult and remain under control at all times.
To qualify for a three-year rabies vaccination, pet owners must bring proof of prior rabies shots. Under New Jersey law, all dogs and cats aged 7 months or older must be vaccinated against rabies.
Dog licensing will also be available on-site during both events. Cash or check will be accepted.
