The class of 2015 celebrated graduation from the Ewing Kiwanis Safety Town program at Antheil Elementary School on July 3.
Each year since 1981, the Ewing Kiwanis provides a miniature town constructed in one of the school’s gymnasiums in Ewing. The one-week program is for preschoolers in Ewing Township and it teaches them traffic safety, school bus safety, stranger safety, how to dial 911 for mom, dad and family and accident prevention.
The children visited Prospect Heights Fire Department where they were taught what to do in a fire and not to play with matches. They also made a visit to the Ewing Township Police Department. This year, Safety Town was again a huge success with 44 preschool students and 20 Ewing Student Volunteer Counselors.
