Prospective students, their parents, and adults interested in enhancing their job skills have a chance to learn more about what Mercer County Community College has to offer during the Explore Mercer Open House.
Faculty, staff, and students will be available to provide information about MCCC’s 70 degree programs and 30 certificate programs in areas that include the health professions, computer technology, culinary arts, business, engineering, liberal arts and entertainment technology.
Participants can also learn about some of the college’s more unusual degree programs, such as aviation flight technology, sustainability, horticulture, funeral services, fashion design and fashion merchandising.
New for fall 2014 is the American Honors at Mercer program, which is specifically designed for high-achieving students with opportunities to transfer to some of the top four-year institutions in the nation.
American Honors is a partnership between MCCC and Quad Learning, Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based company that is working with MCCC faculty to further enrich the curriculum and provide intensive student advising and additional online resources. American Honors advisers work closely with students to help them achieve their goals for transfer.
American Honors has developed transfer partnerships with more than 35 selective colleges; graduates have been accepted at Georgetown University, Cornell University, Stanford University, Vanderbilt University and University of Southern California.
Information will be available about the Trenton and West Windsor campuses and MercerOnline, as well as transfer and dual admission programs and bachelor’s degree programs on campus through partnerships with four-year colleges.
Visitors can learn about financial aid, special services, and NJSTARS, a state program providing free tuition for qualifying high school graduates.
Explore Mercer open house is scheduled for 6 p.m. April 9 at the West Windsor campus Student Center, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
