Mercer County Wildlife Center is set to host orientations for new volunteers.
The facility is is staffed by seven volunteer veterinarians. In 2013, Mercer County Wildlife Center accepted and treated 2,300 birds, mammals and reptiles.
Wildlife Center volunteers duties are varied and include cage cleaning, diet preparation, laundry and other behind-the-scenes opportunities.
Volunteers must be able to commit to one four-hour shift, once per week, from April until September. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and have had a current tetanus vaccine.
Volunteers are required to attend one of the two orientation sessions. Sessions are scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. March 22 and March 23, at the center, 1748 River Road, Titusville. No other orientations will be offered this year.
