Bordentown Library to kick off summer reading program

The Bordentown Library is set to offer two summer reading clubs this year.

This summer’s programs are Fizz Boom read for early literacy and three to 12 year olds, and Spark a Reaction for teens. Both clubs are scheduled to meet Mondays from June 23 to Aug. 15. Science-themed movies are set for Fridays.

Summer Reading Kick-Off is set for June 23 and 24. Participants can stop by the library to pick up summer reading packets, see this year’s prizes and take part in crafts and games.

The library is offering several other program in June.

Time for Twos is set for 10:30 a.m. June 3. The meeting for two-year-old children features a Father’s Day-themed story time and crafts.

Three to six year old story time is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. June 4 at 10:30 a.m. The meeting also includes a Father’s Day story and crafts.

Baby/Toddler Time is set for 10:30 a.m. June 10. This group is open to babies and toddlers up to 23 months old. Meetings feature stories, songs, music, finger plays and socialization activities.

Bordentown Area Photography Interest Group is scheduled to meet 7 p.m. June 10. This is a casual group for photography enthusiasts meet to talk about the craft and share their work.

Adult Book Discussion is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 10. This month’s book is The Aviators Wife by Melanie Benjamin.

Crafting for Tweens is set for 4:30 p.m. June 12. Tweens ages seven to 12 can make crafts using recyclable materials.

Yoga for Adults with Special Needs is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. June 14. This program is designed for adults with special needs; a caregiver must be present.

Yoga and Relaxation is set for 1 p.m. June 14. This activity is open to both men and women. Attendees should bring a mat or blanket.

Tumblin’ Tots is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. June 16. This event is designed for children 18 to 25 months. Child and caregiver should dress comfortably.

Tween Book Club is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. June 17. This month’s book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. The event features discussion and activities for tweens ages seven to 12.

Kids Music Round is set for 10:30 a.m. June 18. Babies and children up to five years old are invited for a morning of singing, dancing, rhymes and finger plays.

The Kiwanis Club of Bordentown is set to host a Book Sale 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 27 and 28. Proceeds support the library.

Mad Science Monday is scheduled for 2 p.m. June 30. Children age 7 and older can participate in science experiments on Mondays throughout the summer.
