Princeton Mobile Food Pantry (PMFP), a nonprofit organization providing fresh groceries and other support to underserved members of the Princeton community, has announced new leadership.
Founded in 2010 by Liliana Morenilla, PMFP has grown to serve more than 1,500 Princeton neighbors living with food insecurity. As president, Amy Lansky steered the organization’s growth from a grassroots organization to nonprofit status and across four moves in four locations since 2021. Now, Debbie Bronfeld, most recently a member of the Princeton Public Schools Board of Education for nine years, has taken the helm as the new president.
“I want to thank Amy for taking a very dedicated group of volunteers who would drive around town dropping off groceries, for organizing us into a productive, financially stable non-profit that now delivers over 700 bags of fresh groceries to our food-insecure Princeton neighbors,” said Bronfeld. “Amy’s leadership and vision have continued to support the pantry, as demand for our services has grown exponentially over the past five years. Amy has strengthened partnerships and community connections, and she ensures every Princeton resident who reaches out is treated with dignity and respect.”
“It has been an honor and a privilege to work with members of our Princeton community for the past five years on the evolution of the Princeton Mobile Food Pantry from an informal help-as-we-can organization to its current iteration as an official non-profit delivering over 700 bags of fresh groceries to more than 1,500 Princeton neighbors,” said Lansky. “I step down secure in the knowledge that the Pantry will continue its good work under the leadership of Debbie and our dedicated board, along with the hard work of our loyal volunteers.”
In addition to a new president, PMFP thanks Jackie Swaine, who is stepping down from the board from her role as the first-ever fundraising director. Sharon Litvinsky and Annie Haan also stepped down. Maria Palmer and Terri Pessutti will bring their creative energy and ideas to the board as the new fundraising directors, as will Jen Bolcoa as secretary and Lisa Robinson as director heading up drives and packing logistics. Mandy Arshan will stay on as volunteer coordinator, Wendy Wilton as treasurer, and Shilpa Pai as director.
