Fabrice Urrizalqui was unanimously appointed by the Board of Trustees as the next head of school for French American School of Princeton (FASP), Board Chair Yeganeh Hayeri announced on February 4. He will begin his position on July 1.

Urrizalqui brings more than two decades of experience in bilingual and international education to his role as the next head of school at French American School of Princeton. A dual French and American citizen, Urrizalqui has dedicated his career to nurturing academic excellence, cultural agility, and a strong sense of belonging for students, families, and colleagues.

Before joining FASP, Urrizalqui spent more than 20 years at the International School of San Francisco, most recently as middle school principal and assistant head of school for French affairs. In these roles, he provided instructional and strategic leadership, supported faculty growth, partnered closely with families, and played an active role in enrollment management, accreditation, and long-term planning. He also led initiatives in social-emotional learning and implemented restorative practices, with a strong emphasis on belonging, student voice, and well-being.

“The Board’s decision reflects Fabrice’s demonstrated record of educational leadership, his deep commitment to bilingual and independent school education, and his strong alignment with the mission and values of FASP,” Hayeri said. “Throughout the search process, he consistently impressed the Board with his enthusiasm, collaborative leadership style, academic focus, sound decision-making, and respect for tradition, qualities essential to strengthening our school. We are confident that he brings the experience, judgment, and vision required to lead our school in the years ahead.”

Urrizalqui holds a master of education and a master of research in social sciences from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), and a master of political science from Sciences Po Paris. He has also completed the NAIS Fellowship for Aspiring School Heads. Fluent in French, English, and Spanish, Urrizalqui has a passion for jazz and is an avid reader of social sciences.

His professional journey reflects a deep commitment to international-mindedness, multilingual education, and thoughtful school leadership rooted in collaboration, transparency, and care. Urrizalqui deeply believes in the power of interdisciplinary learning and collaboration to help students make meaningful connections across disciplines. He is passionate about fostering critical thinking, curiosity, and a sense of international citizenship that prepares students to engage thoughtfully and ethically with the world.

In a letter to the FASP community, Urrizalqui said, “I am deeply honored, humbled, and truly thrilled to be appointed as the next Head of School of the French American School of Princeton. I am grateful to the Board of Trustees for their confidence, and I am excited to join a community that so clearly lives its mission every day.”

Urrizalqui will succeed head of school and founder Corinne Güngör as, after more than two decades of impactful service, she concludes her tenure at the end of the 2025–26 school year.

“Fabrice has the experience, heart, and vision to lead FASP, and I am thrilled he will be joining our community as the next Head of School.” Güngör said.
