The Friends of the Lawrence Library will host their annual May Book Sale at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library System from May 16 to May 19.
Thousands of gently used books for all ages will be available for purchase at the branch, located at 2751 Brunswick Pike in Lawrenceville. The sale opens to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, May 16, and runs through 2 p.m. Monday, May 19. Payment will be accepted by cash, check or Zelle only.
A special Early Admission event will be held Thursday, May 15, from 1 to 4 p.m., giving shoppers the first chance at deals.
Entry to the early admission event is free for current members of the Friends of the Lawrence Library, $5 for the general public, and $20 for patrons with scanning apps or devices. Scanning will only be permitted during the Early Admission event.
Beginning Friday, May 16, entry to the book sale will be free and open to the public. No scanning devices will be allowed during the general sale. Sale hours will be Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Sunday and Monday, shoppers can fill a bag with books for $5. Buyers must bring their own bags.
“Whether you’re a collector or just learning to read, the Friends of the Lawrence Library May Book Sale is a great opportunity to find the perfect book at a bargain price,” said Mercer County Executive Dan Benson, “all while supporting the incredible work of the Lawrence Library.”
Book donations for the sale are being accepted at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch. Proceeds will fund programs and services that benefit library patrons of all ages.
