Students from Burlington County Institute of Technology will get a first-hand look at modern manufacturing when Essity Bordentown hosts its first Careers in Manufacturing Day on Friday, Oct. 3.
The event is part of National Manufacturing Day, which is recognized on the first Friday of October.
Essity, a global health and hygiene company, is holding programs at five of its North American manufacturing sites to highlight opportunities and innovations in the industry.
At the Bordentown plant, students will tour the company’s manufacturing and shipping facilities, take part in a Q&A with engineers, technicians and leadership, and learn about career pathways in the field.
“Essity is a proud employer here in Burlington County. Our employees have put a tremendous event together, and we are excited to help these students see the career possibilities in this innovative field of modern manufacturing,” said David Morales, site manager at Essity Bordentown.
“We value our relationships with the local high schools and colleges, and look forward to making Careers in Manufacturing Day an annual event,” Morales said.
Essity Bordentown manufactures and distributes disinfecting, cleaning and wiping products under the Everwipe by Tork brand. The facility employs about 40 workers and was acquired by Essity in 2022 after its purchase of Legacy Converting, Inc.
Essity, based in Stockholm, Sweden, operates in about 150 countries under brands such as TENA, Tork, Tempo, Lotus and others. In 2024, the company reported net sales of about $14 billion and employed 36,000 people worldwide.
