Lawrence’s Kip Anderson may be battling his third round of cancer, but he isn’t left fighting alone.
In an effort to help Anderson and his family, friends and community members have organized a series of “Keeping Kip Strong” fundraisers, including a spaghetti dinner and Go Fund Me account.
In August, Anderson was diagnosed with Lymphoid cancer. His surgery was a success, and he has since started chemotherapy.
Anderson beat kidney cancer in 2008 and breast cancer in 2012. While friends are hopeful he will beat cancer a third time, they want to help his family pay for the expensive cancer treatments.
Anderson and his family—his wife Sue and two sons Cody and Ryan—are active members of the community, participating in church activities, cub and boy scouts, local sports and many school functions. Now, members of the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church are rallying to support them and help offset the medical expenses and time taken off work to help care for Anderson.
On Friday, Oct. 21 the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting the Anderson family. There will be two dinners, at 5 and 7 p.m., and tickets will be available at the door for $10. Tickets can also be purchased by emailing keepingkipstrong@gmail.com.
