The Princeton Youth Hockey Association (PYHA) Midget 16U A team travelled to West Chester, PA September 11 to 13, 2015 to compete in the Philadelphia Regional Silver Stick Tournament at the Ice Line Quad Rinks.
The Tigers defeated the Delco Phantoms and the Jr. Blue Hens in the first two rounds of the tournament before losing to the Wilkes Barre Jr. Pens in the third round. The fifth-seeded Tigers defeated the fourth-seeded Old Bridge Jr. Knights in the quarter finals. They then faced the first-seeded Long Island Edge in the semi-finals. The Edge took the Tigers to overtime where Princeton took the win by a score of 2-1. The Tigers faced the Quakers in the championship game, winning 4-3.
As a result of their win in the Philadelphia Regional Silver Stick Tournament, the PYHA Tigers have qualified to travel to Canada in January to compete against other regional winners.
Princeton Youth Hockey Association is a member of USA Hockey and the New Jersey Youth Hockey League. PYHA is a Tier II travel hockey program fielding teams from Mite (U8) through Midget (U18), in addition to a learn-to-play-hockey program called Tiger Cubs that is designed for players between the ages of 4 and 7. PYHA is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that is privileged to call historic Baker Rink at Princeton University its home rink.
