The Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJ) Hamilton and the Princeton Photography Club are proud to welcome autumn with a new exhibit at RWJ Hamilton’s Lakefront Gallery. “Gallery 14: An Exhibit Away From Home” is now on display through November 12.
The exhibit features the work of nine member artists from Gallery 14 in Hopewell, a co-op artist’s gallery made up of only photographers. Their work spans from very traditional images to highly manipulated abstract art, realistic to fantasy, black and white to color.
For the exhibit, the participants were asked to present a series of images on any subject and in any style. As a result, a visit to this show takes the viewer to a Chinese acrobat performance, for a walk in several “gardens” along a seashore, on a fantasy child’s world, on a trip to Cuba and a remembrance of 9/11. Participating artists include: Carl Geisler, Martha Weintraub, John Clarke, Martin Schwartz, Rhoda Kassof-Isaac, Charles Miller, Larry Parsons, Alice Grebanier and Samuel Vovsi.
In addition to this exhibit Gallery 14 regularly hosts exhibits in its home gallery at 14 Mercer Street in Hopewell.
RWJ Hamilton opened the Lakefront Gallery in 2013 in collaboration with the Princeton Photography Club. The Lakefront Gallery brings original photographic art to the walls of the hospital, enriching the patient and visitor experience and providing additional creative exposure for local artists.
