Students in West Windsor-Plainsboro’s extended day program (EDP) are participating in KIDZSCIENCE, an after-school activity funded through a grant by the WW-P Education Foundation. “The WW-P Education Foundation grant has had a positive impact on EDP students by helping improve science knowledge, reinforcing science concepts already learned in school, making new friends, and having fun in a relaxed learning environment,” says Daniela Nita, EDP supervisor and grant writer.
Nita’s plan was to bring more science projects and events to students after school. The grant provided materials for four separate projects for students in kindergarten to eighth grade. They include Flying Toys, Spinning Toys, Cake Chemistry, and DNA Extraction from Spinach. These special projects involved students in kindergarten through grade eight.
