Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) of Mercer County has received a $5,000 grant from Christine’s Hope For Kids Foundation to support CYO after school programs and other efforts for children and youth.
Christine’s Hope For Kids founders John and Jean Gianacaci recently visited CYO’s Broad Street Trenton Center and toured the programs currently operating at the site, a pre-school and after school program, both serving 200 children, ages 4 to 12.
Christine’s Hope For Kids celebrates the life and continues the work of Christine Gianacaci of Hopewell to help less fortunate children and to support local community agencies that work with and benefit children. The Foundation works to teach and communicate the idea that every person can make a difference each day by helping others and being kinder. The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) of Mercer County is a 501(c)(3), community organization, with 60 plus years experience in childcare and youth programs. Initiated primarily as a provider of recreational activities for Catholic youth, CYO was formally incorporated in 1961, and has evolved into a full service childcare and youth development program provider. CYO’s mission is to enhance the lives of Greater Mercer County youth and their families, by providing affordable, quality educational and recreational services, which include: pre-school programs; before/after school programs; summer day camps; teen travel camp; and youth athletic leagues.
