Goldman Sachs Gives awarded a $2 million endowed gift to Princeton Day School.
The endowment is to be used for need-based financial aid at the school.
This gift is awarded through Goldman Sachs Gives, a donor-advised fund that makes grants to qualifying nonprofit organizations around the world, including educational institutions.
The fund supports underserved communities through building and stabilizing communities, honoring service and veterans, creating jobs and economic growth, and increasing educational opportunities.
PDS, an independent, coeducational school, enrolls 920 students in grades pre-k through 12. In the current academic year, the school awarded approximately $4.5 million to 25 percent of the student body. The average grant is $14,500. The awarded grants range from $3,500 to nearly full tuition plus fees.
Recipients of the financial aid provided by this gift will be known as the “Goldman Sachs Scholars.”
