HomeFront, the local anti-poverty agency serving homeless families in central New Jersey, sponsors summer camp programs especially for homeless and needy children.
The camp runs five days a week for eight weeks and serves children ages five to 15 from homeless or very low-income families. Two meals a day and healthy snacks are provided. A number of this summer’s meals will be donated by area restaurants.
The camp consists of academic and enrichment activities including reading, math, art, music, drama, nature and gardening, swimming and trips to museums, parks and other venues.
The camp costs $135 per camper per week. To help send a homeless child to summer camp visit homefrontnj.org.
