The March of Dimes New Jersey chapter recently announced that Princeton resident Eleanita Enriquez from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) in New Brunswick received the 2014 March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award in the Neonatal category. These awards recognize nurses who demonstrate exceptional patient care, compassion and service.
Eleanita Enriquez, RN, MSN CPNP, CCRN, CEIM works in the NICU at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She is also an adjunct Pediatric Clinical Instructor, Co-Chair of the EBP Pediatric Journal Club and a member of the RWJUH Nursing Research Steering Committee, the AACN (American Association of Critical Care Nurses) and the PNA (Philippine Nurses Association). She received Clinical Nurse IV (CNIV), the highest recognition for excellent nursing practice at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and served as a NICU Magnet Ambassador from Sept. 2012 to Jan. 2014

Nurse of the Year Awards are given annually in approximately 19 award categories. More than 5,000 nurses were nominated nationwide this year. New Jersey award recipients were announced at a special awards gala held on Nov. 19, at Pines Manor in Edison. 139 finalists attended, representing 40 hospitals and healthcare facilities.
