Principals from Trenton Board of Education are set to participate in the first program of its kind in New Jersey.
Recently, principals were introduced to HealthTeacher, a comprehensive, online, elementary school resource with nearly 300 health lessons aligned to the National Health Education Standards.
The program was originally introduced to the Trenton Public Schools two years ago and was funded through the St. Francis Medical Center Foundation.
HealthTeacher integrates their curriculum into core subject areas enabling educators to incorporate health lessons into everyday learning for kindergarten to fifth grade students.
Principals at the meeting experienced the program first hand by solving math problems aloud that flashed up on a large screen while they jogged in place.
HealthTeacher is currently reaching more than six million kids through its fast-growing network of 11,000 schools across the country.
Trenton schools are the first in the state to use the program.
