Bordentown Township’s annual tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 2.
Mayor Jim Cann is set to light the tree 6 p.m. in front of the municipal building. The ceremony continues inside at the Senior Community Center with a performance, awards ceremony and visit from a special guest.

Students from around the district were challenged to create art and poems based on different holiday themes.
The theme at Clara Barton School was “favorite winter tradition.” First place winners are kindergartner Olivia Delaney, first grader Lucy McCabe, second grader Jayden Ryan and third grader Izabella Tuccillo. Second place winners are kindergartner Emerson Magby, first grader Lindsay Reed, second grader Cadence Bukousis and third grader Kylie Nutret. Third place winners are kindergartner Elizabeth Williams, first grader Sierra Struck, second grader Mia Coppola and third grader Brianna Burgos.
Students at McFarland School were asked to write a poem about wintertime family traditions. First place winners are Delisha Makkamala and Donny Henderickson; second place winners are Rayma Hamdan and Gina Dauber; third place winners are Elaria Mousa and Andrew Romano.
Sixth graders at Bordentown Regional Middle School were challenged to create a business card for their favorite place in the township. Roisin McCabe won first place, Max Berton won second and Curtis Asral won third.
Finally, students at Peter Muschal School were asked to draw a picture of their favorite winter holiday. First place winners are kindergartner Nolan Brooks, first grader Yianni Gergatsouus, second grader Willy Stranko and third grader Dafne Stettner. Second place winners are kindergartner Kashika Manak, first grader Natalie Crowell, second grader Olivia Brovak and third grader Joshua Davis. Third place winners are kindergartner Matthew O` Connell, first grader Reece Burley, second grader Christopher Glenn and third grader Abby Goodrich.
