Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre is set to present Hair and 101 Dalmatians Kids in August.
Hair, set in the 1960s, tells the story of the “tribe,” a group of politically active, long-haired hippies living a bohemian life in New York City. Claude, his friend Berger, their roommate Sheila and their friends struggle to balance their young lives and their ongoing rebellion against the Vietnam War draft, their conservative parents and society.
Due to language and sexual themes that are portrayed in the production, Hair is suggested for mature audiences.
The cast is made up of alumni of Lambertville’s Downtown Performing Arts Center.
Kyle McClellan, of Doylestown, Pa., is set to play Claude. Open Air audiences have seen him in numerous productions over the past few seasons including Crazy for You.
The cast also features Taylor Beckman of Flemington as Jeanie, Lindsay Frazier of Atlanta, Ga., as Sheila and Damian Quinn of Whitehouse Station as Berger.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Aug 9, 10 and 11.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under.
Open Air Theatre is also scheduled to present 101 Dalmatians Kids Aug. 9 through 18.
The performances are part of the theater’s children’s series and include young actors as puppies.
The musical is about Dalmatian puppies who are kidnapped by Cruella DeVille, who wants them for her new fur coat. All of the dogs of London join forces to rescue the puppies from Cruella and her bumbling henchmen.
Performances are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Aug. 9, 10, 16 and 17 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 11 and 18 .
Tickets are $5 for children or adults.
Tickets for both productions can purchased at the Open Air Theatre Box Office prior to the performance.
The theater is located inside Washington Crossing State Park, 355 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road, Titusville.
