The West Windsor Arts Council is set to showcase the work of its members in an exhibition called Out of the Blue.
The exhibition is scheduled to be on view from Jan. 6 to Feb. 28 at the West Windsor Art Center Gallery at 952 Alexander Road, West Windsor. An opening reception is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 12.
Arts council membership is represented by 44 works of art by 39 different artists, selected by juror Eric Drotch, artist, educator and Fulbright Scholar who teaches in the Visual Arts Department at the Peddie School.
Members were challenged to create artwork that was born from the color blue. Works could be monochromatic or suggestive of blue that are not literal representations. More than 105 submissions from 50 artists were received following the call to artists.
Work on view ranges from digital photography, painting, mixed media, collage and Chinese brush painting.
The artists featured in the exhibition are Margarete Naperski of Beverly, Cristina de Medeiros and Jeff Tryon of Ewing, Clara Beym and Margaret Simpson of Hamilton, Ingrid Davis, Barbara DiLorenzo and Paul Mordetsky of Hightstown, Nancy Scott of Lawrenceville, Kimberly Ducoté Schimmel of Monroe Township, John Aaen, Meta Dunkly Arnold, Eleni Litt, Dinah Pack, Daniel Parris and Prudence Shapcott of Princeton, Ilene Dube,Marci Gelb, Mark Hadsell, Paula Huttner, Kathleen Liao, Reshma Sharma, Adria Sherman, Allison Singer, Lisa Weil and Andrew Werth of Princeton Junction, Susan Mitrano of Titusville, Bill Hoeflich of Trenton, Deborah Graham of Union, Sharon Chapman, Al Chasan, Tammy Dawkins, Dee Gozonsky, Barry Garelick, Judy Kaye, Renee Kumar, Mary Ann Weisser, Hongzham Ye, West Windsor and Lynn Cheng Varga of Yardville.
