Princeton Day School is set to display an exhibition titled Origami.
The exhibition is scheduled to run Jan. 13 – 30 at the Anne Reid ‘72 Art Gallery, 650 Great Road, Princeton.
PDS student Georgia Wong is set to lead an origami workshop 10:55 – 11:45 a.m. Jan. 23. An opening reception is scheduled for 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
The display includes the Origami USA 2012 traveling exhibition of Origami by Children, which features projects from children around the world, including works by PDS students Krishna Sivakumar, Georgia Wong and Natalie Szuter.
Founded in 1978, Origami By Children provides inspiration for children of all ages to explore their own creative potential as well as enjoy the creativity of other children from around the world. Every year, children are invited to submit their best folded models; the finest are selected for the organization’s exhibition, which travels to communities across the country.
The exhibition also features works by Chairigami designer Zach Rothholz. Chairigami is sustainable, cardboard furniture.
In addition, works by PDS woodworking instructor Chris Maher and mathematical folded paper projects from the Arlene Cohen’s sixth grade class will be on display.
The exhibition is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday when school is in session, and by appointment on weekends.
