As expected incumbents Neil Lewis and Nuran Nabi will be serving another three-year term on Plainsboro Township Committee. The unofficial results on Election Night showed the Democrats pulled in more than 70 percent of the ballots, giving them a landslide victory.
Deputy Mayor Lewis came out on top with 4,523 votes and Nabi was right behind with 4,074 votes. Republican opponents Marjorie Doyle Lyons and second time candidate Krishna Jagannathan received 1,932 and 1,907 votes respectively.
Lewis has served on the committee for 18 years, with 15 of them as deputy mayor. He has a Ph.d in medicinal chemistry and is the senior manager and director for the Jacobus Pharmaceutical Company. He continues to be active on many town committees and is the present liaison for Public Safety and the Environmental Advisory Committee.
This will be Nabi’s third term on the committee. He has a Ph.D in cell biology and is the co-inventor of Colgate Total toothpaste technology. He is the liaison for the Department of Recreation and a member of the Free Public Library Foundation.
Doyle Lyons specializes in finance and has worked for Merrill Lynch for 23 years. She currently serves as a treasurer for her sister’s start up company, Healingscenes, and continues to be active volunteer in the Junior League of Greater Princeton.
Jagannathan has a position with the state department of Labor working in Occupational Safety. He was elected last February to the town’s Fire District No. 1, where he helped maintain a zero-tax increase.
