This is a thank-you note to West Windsor’s Department of Public Works. The Birchwood neighborhood, where I live, is heavily wooded and suffered accordingly. A week after the storm our streets were bordered on both sides by hedgerows of branches shoulder-high in places, including logs up to two feet in diameter. Today our roads are clean as a whistle.
Starting immediately after Sandy departed, West Windsor’s Department of Public Works began working 10 hours a day, six days a week to clear the debris. On Sundays other crews have been hard at work performing maintenance on their overburdened equipment. We owe these people a debt of gratitude. They are doing an outstanding job and deserve our profound thanks.
